Paul Hunter comes originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland. After successfully completing his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Cambridge University and post-graduate study at Oxford University, Paul moved to Switzerland.
He worked his way through the ranks of the Wall Street Institute from part-time teacher to become General Manager of Wall Street for Switzerland, France and Germany-where he grew the business in 17 existing profit centers as well as launching several start-up businesses in France and orchestrating a turnaround in Germany. He acted as a troubleshooter and trainer across the group to increase efficiency in sales, marketing, service and operations.
After 7 years with Wall Street, Paul moved on to join a boutique consultancy firm specialising in leadership development, executive coaching and training. His main activities consisted of conceptualising and rolling out leadership development programs with global organisations, teambuilding, individual and team assessments, and senior executive coaching. He significantly expanded the consultancy, particularly at an international level, and launched many new programs, services and strategic initiatives.
In 2007, Paul joined IMD as Director of the Corporate Learning Network, working with global organizations to provide a range of learning and networking services to enable them to strengthen their leadership development capabilities. As part of his role Paul hosted IMD’s weekly webcast series, monthly discovery events and annual C-suite roundtables.
He subsequently was promoted to Director of Digital Learning across all of IMD’s activities to ensure customized digital and blended learning experiences through seamless digital and F2F interaction, underpinned by state of the art design, production and delivery. Paul drives the IMD portfolio of online programs to address the changing needs of the digital generation and seeks to leverage disruptive innovations in the service of current and future IMD clients.
Paul graduated from IMD with an Executive MBA with Honours. He is a qualified Tavistock trained facilitator and has coached on a range of IMD’s open, customised and degree programs including IMD’s renowned High Performance Leadership program. Paul is certified in Blended Learning Mastery from the Sloan Consortium and is qualified in a wide range of psychometric tools and instruments. He is vice-chair of ELIG, the European Learning Industry Group and a Steering Committee member of EFMD’s Corporate Learning Improvement processes for corporate university accreditation.
Paul is married with three young children, has worked and travelled throughout the world, speaks three languages and has also spent time as a journalist for the BBC.
