Dr. Lee Clinton Buddy Jr. currently serves as the Principal of Wade Park in Cleveland Metropolitan School District. In this role, he is responsible for overall leadership and management of the school’s instructional program, community partnerships, teaching staff, and business/operational affairs.
Dr. Buddy has been instrumental in coordinating a process to increase student achievement for all students. This has been accomplished with a student-centered and strategic approach that focuses on developing instructional leaders, increasing parent and community involvement, closing the achievement gap, and improving teacher quality. Dr. Buddy developed monthly parent university classes to empower parents/guardian to support their child’s education. In collaboration with community partners in education, he spearheaded an organization “Wade Park Cares” to assist families in need. In collaboration with the district network team, Dr. Buddy has improved student learning outcomes, increased rigor in the curriculum and instructional delivery system, increased community partnerships, and developed student leadership programs to develop the “whole” child. His passion is to give all children, regardless of background or socioeconomic status, a world-class education that prepares them to compete in a global society.
Dr. Buddy began his career in public education as a classroom teacher in the Miami-Dade Public Schools in 2005. He has also worked with elementary and middle school children in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2015, he was chosen to lead the scholars at Wade Park School in Cleveland, Ohio as Principal.
Dr. Buddy earned his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership at Walden University. He holds a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Mercer University. He also holds a Masters degree in Reading and Bachelor’s Degree from Barry University.
